From Santa Clarita across 126 to Santa Barbara

I had not fully appreciated the fact that so much fresh produce is grown in this area of California.  In the valleys nestled among some very dry mountains are rows and rows of fruits, veggies and nuts.  The orchards and farms are everywhere and the fruit is so wonderful when it is picked fresh.

Orchards and farm fields fill the valleys along highway 126.

And a turn took us up highway 150 which had gorgeous views of Lake Casitas.

Santa Barbara decked out for Independence Day celebrations.

Surprised to see this sign on a McDonald's.
