I think that this is a variety of agave.  I was told that they bloom once and die.

Spring training!

The Royals have spring training in Surprise, Arizona.  What a great place to see a ball game!  I really felt like I was part of the game because we were so close to the field.  I had a blast taking pictures (even though I really needed my long lens!) We beat the Oakland As, 8-4.  Enjoy!

Even though Billy Butler is with Oakland, the crowd went wild when he stepped up to bat.
